Maple trees flower early, when the season has barely begun, and they are among the first nectar sources the bees find. A honey of its own does not happen every year: it depends on the weather in those few weeks.
It is often mistaken for maple syrup, which is something else: syrup comes from the sap of the tree, this honey is made by bees from the nectar of its flowers.
