What do bees eat in winter?

In winter bees live on the honey stores they have set aside. If those run out, the beekeeper steps in with a preparation called candy:

  1. melt the honey;
  2. add icing sugar;
  3. knead it well;
  4. shape it into blocks ready to put in the hive.
